Youtube has had a massive impact on the workings and revenue of the music industry. It has forced the industry to change and adapt - changes that have both positive and negative effects. What the music industry now is finding, is that people are going to the WWW instead of buying records! Youtube made piracy easier through the sharing of files and downloading. I understand all the legal issues with copyrights etc, but really think that embracing a media like YouTube is a far better option than condemning it and campaigning to get all copyrighted clips removed because Youtube will contribute more on the growth of the music industry especially for those singer that want to be known in the international music industry.
